Mina holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Oslo. During her studies she did exchange semesters at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and at the University of Cape Town. In addition, she worked for six months at the OECD's Directorate for Development Cooperation. Through her studies, she specialized her expertise in development economics and econometrics. In her master's thesis, Mina performed an empirical analysis of the effect of extreme weather on education in ten countries south of Sahara. This academic background has given her good knowledge of the construction and analysis of large data sets, as well as developments in extreme weather and education over time in selected countries.
