Oil and gas is Norway’s most economically important industry, but faces major changes. It is essential to manage oil and gas resources in an optimal way in the short and long run. Vista Analyse has a framework agreement with the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) and provides advice on economic issues of importance to the regulation of the industry. Vista Analyse has also analysed the socio-economic consequences of opening Lofoten-Vesterålen for petroleum, and assessed the regional effects connected to the petroleum sector. We have had a framework agreement with the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for economic analysis over the last ten years. Under the framework agreement we have made both theoretical and empirical analyses, including analysing issues related to the companies’ investment decisions and methods for socio-economic cost-benefit analysis and business financial investment analysis.
