Vista Analyse and Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association arranged a training session on renewable energy in Satu Mare in Romania between September 5-6. The training session was part of the RENEWSM project, which seeks to strengthen knowledge and increase the level of awareness of the population of Satu Mare County regarding renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security.
Haakon Vennemo and Leif Grandum from Vista Analyse were present in Satu Mare and addressed topics of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and security. Participants representing local public authorities, public institutions, universities, NGOs were present at the session.
In October, Vista will host project participants in Oslo for an exchange of experience, which we look forward to.
Results from the project will be documented in a written report that will become available online within the end of the year.
The RENEWSM project is financed with the support of grants awarded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA financial mechanism 2014-2021, within the "Romanian Energy Program", the amount of the grant awarded being 138,000 Euros. The EEA grants represent the contribution of the states of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway for a greener, more competitive and more inclusive Europe. There are two major objectives: reducing economic and social disparities in Europe and strengthening bilateral relations between donor states and the 15 EU states in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The 3 donor states cooperate closely with the EU within the framework of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Donor states provided 3.3 billion Euros through grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, EEA Grants have a value of 1.55 billion Euros.
