Landscapes have high value
Oslo, 23.10.2015
In cooperation with Aarhus University, Vista leads an ongoing project for the Nordic Council of Ministers about the value of landscape experiences as a cultural ecosystem service. There are large ongoing and planned landscape changes caused by infrastructure investments in the energy and transport sectors. It is therefore increasingly important to include the value of landscape changes as part of cost-benefit analyses and spatial planning. The first phase of the project documents that the values are often high, but typically largely ignored. See report here. In the second phase of the project in 2016, we look at how such values can be included in practice.
